The Watermark at 3030 Park Independent Living community residents took a special day trip to relax and rejuvenate at the historic Spa at Norwich Inn located in nearby Norwich, Connecticut. The day’s itinerary included massage or facial, relaxation room time, water aerobic class, 2 course lunch, and tea & scones. There was also a sauna, steam room, hot tub, fitness center and beautiful grounds for walks available to us at anytime during our day.
Physical and mental relaxation resulting from massage therapy has shown to help decrease the unhealthy buildup of cortisol, or “stress hormone,” in the body, allowing the body to enter a rest and rejuvenation period promoting a healthier overall feeling, increase in energy levels, reduction in pain of osteoarthritis, improved quality of sleep and quicker recovery time healing from injuries or illness.
Spending our day at the spa was a great way to incorporate massage into our wellness routine. Stay tuned for future spa trips to see what benefits and relief you can begin to experience yourself.
