The women’s strength training fitness group organized at The Watermark at 3030 Park Independent Living Community benefits the participants physically, mentally, and emotionally and provides motivation that allows each resident to stick to their routine while having fun working out. The small group of four to five ladies meets with personal trainer Sue Kennedy for a weekly, semi-private, six week program in the Vitality Fitness Center. Sue creates a personal workout program for each participant so that specific needs and goals are met, adding progressions as the weeks go on.
The commitment of the group to staying strong and healthy is made easier because of the accountability each person has to each other which helps the group as a whole achieve their fitness goals. Another benefit? Social interaction. Oftentimes, exercising together will be extended to a lunch, dinner or group outing which continues to boost everyone’s mood. Spending time with friends that are committed to a healthy lifestyle really is the the key to thriving!
