Resident Feature, Marilyn Price, Thriving at The Watermark at 3030 Park

Resident Marilyn Price of The Watermark at 3030 Park is grateful and truly blessed to be a mother to nine children, grandmother to twenty-eight, yes “2-8” grandchildren, and great grandmother to one child with another on the way! Marilyn feels extremely blessed and grateful and said, “without a doubt, the greatest joy and greatest achievement has been my family, we are blessed!”

Marilyn and her husband Thomas, both Brooklyn natives, met at a “bring-a-guest” party and married in 1953 in Brooklyn, N.Y. They shared a loving family and celebrated 52 years of marriage together. Family dinners were always very important and even included both grandfathers who lived with the family at different times. During birthday dinners, the birthday boy or girl chose the dinner of their choice. A funny birthday dinner memory is when Marilyn’s son Charlie, on his 15th birthday, requested Rock Cornish game hen. Rock Cornish game hen is a tiny broiler chicken that required Marilyn to cook a single hen for each family member! That meant eleven plus little hens…needless to say, everyone helped. During the growing up years, everyone cooked, had table setting and babysitting duties as well as weekly chores. These days, Christmas is very special and never missed, everyone makes this holiday a priority. It is very special when the entire family is together, all 50+!

Presently Marilyn has scaled down and is very happy with her decision to move to The Watermark which has allowed her to continue to spend time with her family.
